The daylighting proposal is for one or two lanes of St. George street to be allocated for the re-creation of the creek with surrounding green space. The idea of the rainway is to work in parallel with the underground stormwater system; when rainfall is light to moderate, the creek flows along the new streambed at the surface level. In combined sewers wastewater and rainwater go to the wastewater treatment plant most of the time and are somewhat treated before being discharged to the ocean.
